HOW TO WEAR: ALL BLACK & POPS OF COLOR

A Little Black Dress (LBD) is a staple for any gal's wardrobe because it is one of the most versatile and timeless pieces you'll ever get your hands on. The same effect of an LBD can be achieved through what I like to call a LBO (Little Black Outfit). While a LBO can make quite a statement on its own, there are times where a bit of color can work wonders to further solidify and accent your look. Below you'll find my best tips for pulling off this technique!

-TIP 1: STEER CLEAR OF DIFFERENT SHADES OF BLACK -

The unfortunate reality of wearing 2 separate black items? The pieces may not be the same shade of black *cue frustration*. This tip seems meaningless, but in the right light a mismatched all black outfit will absolutely change the appearance and vibe of your outfit overall.

- TIP 2: PAY LESS ATTENTION TO SILHOUETTE -

There are thousands of silhouettes among the modern fashion scene; from baggy to tight, to statement sleeves, and so on. It is important to remember the pop of color is the focal point of your outfit, so it should be structured as so. I demonstrate how to achieve this in the outfit I'm pictured wearing in this post. My pants and shirt are loose and comfortable yet avoid appearing unflattering on behalf of the shoes I'm wearing. As a whole, the pieces in my outfit don't distract from the pink bag as the focal point of my look, but rather allow it to be the first thing your eye is drawn to rather than the shape of what I am wearing.

- TIP 3: HAVE FUN WITH IT! -

The most important part of fashion & style, regardless of the look you're trying to pull off, is to make sure you follow your instincts and wear what you feel your best in- even if that means breaking a few "rules," along the way (weren't rules made to be broken, anyway?). Don't feel obligated to shy away from brighter colors or wearing more than one color! This applies to the coordination process of any outfit, not just an all black one.
