Gone are the days where cancelled weekend plans gave me the thrill of being able to stay at home and do nothing. As arrogant as it may sound, staying home all day is hard. I love being able to go to work, interact with people, grab coffee or go adventuring (I'm especially missing thrifting).

For the time being, it seems we'll all be staying at home. As the reality of this new way of life sets in, I'm trying to be more conscious of the little things helping me get through these tough times. So today, I'm sharing with you eight things that are helping me get through quarantine.

As soon as I saw this listed on Mariah Carey's Amazon Christmas Wishlist some months back, I knew I had to have an Ember mug! When I do my makeup, chat over a hot cup of joe in the morning with family or work from home, my coffee always gets too cold too quick. It sounds silly, but having a mug that keeps my coffee warm is pretty important to me.

I asked my boyfriend, Evan, for this mug for Christmas / our anniversary as the two happen to fall at the same time of the year. I think its one of the best gifts I've ever gotten!

A pair of high waisted mom / boyfriend jeans is a must-have to feel quarantine chic.

I'm one of those people who prefers to get dressed while working from home. I don't do a full face of makeup or go crazy with my hair, but simply getting out of my pajamas helps me feel more in touch with my old routine through all of this madness.

Typically, I get all of my jeans (and most of my clothes, for that matter) from Goodwill or by thrifting, but I couldn't resist these Forever 21 jeans. As soon as I tried them on in the store I fell in love because they're so comfortable.

Thought it's a bit trite, a soft blanket is a staple for staying cozy at home. Something about snuggling up in a blanket and watching a movie, drinking a cup of tea or wearing a blanket cape while I work is so calming and relaxing.

I don't think there's ever been a better time for a complete overhaul of how I take care of my skin. Once a week, I've been using the Zo Skin Health Exfoliating Polish and Daily Power Defense to repair damage and protect my skin from aging.

I use this combo every Sunday night. For some reason, I feel like it works better when I haven't worn any makeup, so Sunday is a good day to use these. Plus, I love starting off a new week feeling glowy and rejuvenated.

Since using these, I've honestly never felt more comfortable showing off my natural face during video conferences or FaceTime with friends and family.

*Special thanks to LÉBO SKIN CARE for gifting me these items.

The last few self care items helping me keep my sanity are the Philosophy Amazing Grace and Pure Grace perfumes, along with the Anastasia Aurora Glow palette. Once again, these items just help me feel like I'm keeping up with my regular routine and feel some sort of normalcy.

And besides, who doesn't like glowing skin or smelling good?
